Amakhala - Shearer's Lodge
South Africa (Eastern Cape- Malaria free )
In 1926 the Fowlds family began wool farming on Leeuwenbosch farm. In 1930 the building which is today Shearers’ Lodge was erected as a dedicated sheep shearing shed. Sheep farming continued until 1996 when the farm was converted to a game reserve. The old shed, in which close on a million merino sheep were shorn, has been beautifully converted into four luxury en-suite rooms, three twins and one really special honeymoon suite and surrounded by indigenous gardens.
